The downside to singleness – holidays!!

I do have to admit that there are times I don’t like the single life. I would to go on those bargain holidays but there is no one to go with, cos they are either married or can’t time off or they are not into the same thing that I am into. I don’t believe in laying around the beach all day, I like to explore so want to hit the sightseeing trail besides I can’t swim so it will be a waste of money which is why I wouldn’t go to the Caribbean! The Christian holiday company I used to go has become so expensive over the years so I have stopped going on holidays. I will desperately like to get away this year but only if the price is right, in as much as I love doing stuff on my own – cinema, museum, theatre, etc. I can’t go on holiday without a ‘group’, I know some will say just go on my own like a lot of females do but there is one tiny detail – I am black! This to me means I will not only stand out but I can do without the racist treatment I will get. When I have holidayed in the past it has always been with other Christians which is how I met my best friend. I can holiday in the UK on my own but abroad is a no, no I just feel I will be drawing unnecessary attention to myself, if you catch my drift. Yes I know God is my protector but I also need to apply the wisdom he has given me besides what will I do with myself in the evenings on my own!

In as much as I love my country, holidaying here is more expensive than going abroad which is rather annoying. I mean the price of a mini break alone, when I compare the prices I can go on a week holiday to Spain!! So yes the single life is pants at times …..
