Seasons Greetings, I pray 2015 will be a great year for you. I have not been posting as regularly as I should because of the nature of my new job. I have been working long hours so getting home late. As you can imagine the job has finally taken its toll on me, don’t get me wrong I like the job but working long hours almost every day is not for me, my middle aged body is a bit too old for that:). I am so glad I have got 2 weeks off.
I hope you had a good Christmas, mine was really good I didn’t want to leave, lol. I was aware that there are fellow singletons who would have spent their Christmas alone which is a shame when the church should be place when no one should ever feel lonely! Unfortunately, this is the case I have discovered that some married folks are so into themselves that they tend to mingle only with those just like them, eg; deciding time to be at each other’s house for Christmas, etc. It can be demoralising if they are talking about their plans when a single person is present, I mean why not ask what their plans or better still extend an invitation. What they do is ask the Singleton later, ‘how was your Christmas? ‘. What a cop out?! It reminds me of what someone told me over a year ago she will ‘invite me to lunch’ her family soon. It’s been over a year and I am still waiting for that invite, I didn’t believe her anyway cos she’s one of the patronising ones. I pray God will open their eyes ….
The single life can be challenging at times especially for over 30s and 40s. But when we focus on Jesus we will not be moved when those younger than us are getting married. Yes that seems to be what’s happening at the moment, all the kids I watch grow up are either married or about to, I am happy for them though. I will rather they were married than cohabit with kids.
At the end of the day Jesus is our bridegroom, as I have always said God makes all things beautiful in his own time. In the meantime, enjoy the journey let God take care of you. Yes it’s hard but what other choice do you have?
Let me just end by saying welcome to 2015, get ready for God to move in an awesome way for you. Till my next (I will try not to let it be too long this time) entry, may the Lord continue to bless and strengthen your faith
